Trusted Contact Person

Extra Support When You Need It

As part of our commitment to protecting your interests, and in line with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Consumer Protection Code 2025, Bankinter offers you the option to nominate a Trusted Contact Person.

What is a Trusted Contact Person

A Trusted Contact Person is someone you choose - a family member, friend, or someone you know well, who we can contact if we’re ever concerned about your wellbeing or the security of your account.

We will only reach out to them if we have serious concerns, such as:

  • Possible financial abuse.
  • Difficulty reaching you or an authorised third party.
  • Needing to confirm your contact details.
  • Clarifying information about your health status.
  • Confirming the identity of a legal guardian, executor or trustee.

They cannot see your account, access your money, or make decisions for you. Their role is simply to help keep you safe and give you peace of mind.

With your written consent, and the written consent of the Trusted Contact Person, we will:

  • Record their name and contact details securely.
  • Contact them only under the circumstances outlined above.
  • Share only specific relevant information.

You have the right to:

  • Update or withdraw your consent at any time by notifying us in writing.
  • Change your Trusted Contact Person by notifying us in writing.
  • Request a copy of the information we hold about your Trusted Contact Person.

How to proceed

If you’d like to nominate someone, simply download and complete the consent form below, which requires:
